Goodbye, Google Bar: Black Strip Turns Into Pop-Up

Amplify’d from mashable.com
If you use Gmail, Google Reader, Google+, Google Search, Google Maps — indeed, just about any Google product — you’ve likely become familiar with that black strip across the top of the screen with links to the company’s other services. Google introduced it back in June. Opinions have varied ever since, but many of us have gone with: what on Earth is that ugly thing?

Wonder no longer, because the black bar is going away. In a blog post Wednesday, Google announced it would be replaced with a pop-up that appears when you mouse over the Google logo. There will also be a smaller, less obtrusive light grey bar dominated by a search box.

Tomb Raider 2012 Review

“A young and innocent Lara Croft is ship-wrecked on a mysterious island in an open world survival game, leaving from the mood of prior games in the series.”

Game Plot

The game will tell an swap tale of Lara Croft’s first adventure, where she is young (21 years old) and inexperienced. When traveling on the ship Endurance towards an island off the coast of Japan, single-minded to make a name for herself in the world, a brutal storm destroys the ship and washes Lara ashore on a beach of an unknown island. Alone, scared and wounded, she has to learn to stay alive and eventually become the daring voyager she is destined to become.
The game focuses on Lara’s character arc from inexperienced adventurer to veteran explorer. The developers want the player to feel for Lara which explains why they redesigned the character to make her look more human being and less top replica. Her abilities have also been condensed. She no longer knows aerobics and maneuvers the environments with less assurance
Tomb Raider is the first Tomb Raider game to have an M rating. This is due to excessive blood (Lara often has to heal herself by manually putting bones back in place) but also due to the fact that Lara can die in brutal ways. Lara is not alone on the island and the indigenous population enjoys torture and execution people upside down to have them burn to death.

Use Your iPhone’s Headset to Take Pictures From Afar

Amplify’d from lifehacker.com
If you want a super-steady shot from your iPhone's camera—or want to take a picture of yourself from a tripod—you can actually use the volume button on your iPhone's headset to take a picture.
One of iOS 5's coolest shortcuts is the ability to take a picture using your phone's volume up button, making it act a bit more like a real camera. However, what you may not have realized is that using the volume up button on the Apple Remote Earphones—which come with every iPhone—will also take a picture. That way, you can put your iPhone on a DIY tripod and take a picture of you and your friends from far away, or just take a super-steady picture without your hands muddying up the shot. It even works with some Bluetooth headsets, too—though your mileage may vary with non-Apple peripherals

Windows 8 requires less reboot

Good News from Microsoft.Microsoft has said that their new upcoming OS Windows 8 will require less restart when you install an update or fix a bug.

It is a known fact that Windows requires a lot of restarts. Restarting is undoubtedly irritating but it cannot be avoided because the files cannot be used or updated until the PC is restarted. Although everyone knows that it is a necessary evil but at times it becomes frustrating as you may have to restart your machine in the middle of doing something important.

In Windows 8 all updates that require a reboot will be downloaded on Microsoft's familiar Patch Tuesday. This means that you will need to reboot your PC just once in a month. In case of high priority security updates exceptions can be made.

Once the machine has been updated you will be notified of any upcoming restarts. Unlike the previous Windows versions the message will pop-up in the log in screen of Windows 8 and will remain for three days, sparing you from continuous pop up notifications.

After 3 days Windows 8 will flash an automatic restart massage only when your machine is idle i.e. there are no processes running or files opened. Windows 8 is scheduled to release in 2012 though no official date has been released from Microsoft.

Download Tintin Movie | Cinemaroll

It could have wrecked up as a heady cocktail of the Indiana Jones and the Pirates of the Caribbean series, but The Adventures of Tintin Full Movie is so a good deal more than used headiness. And that’s because of its dazzling new technique of filming — motion capture animation — that exactly brings to life Belgian artist Herge’s attractive carnival of characters, led by Tintin, the unmanageable reporter and Snowy, the smartest dog in town. Tintin and his encounters with evil in exotic lands by now have a legion fans in India.

Use Facebook Fan Pages To Promote Your Business Online

The average Facebook user uses Facebook for personal communication but as a business entity one should use Facebook fan page. The huge popularity of Facebook has given birth to a new code of belief that Facebook fan pages are one of the best tools to promote your business. Let us see why Facebook fans pages are important for business promotion.
First the statistics:
  • Facebook has over 750 million active users.
  • 50% of active users log on to Facebook in any given day
  • Average user is connected to 80 community pages, groups and events
  • There are more than 250 million active mobile users of Facebook
  • Average user is connected to 80 community pages, groups and events.

    Check out this video
These are some serious numbers. Now just think what would happen if you can just convert only 1% of active users into your clients, just think- and this is why Facebook fan page is so important for business promotion.
Setting up a Facebook fan page takes minutes, even an average person can set-up a page within ten minutes but don’t take it lightly. This fan page represents your company so make sure to make it attractive. Just as no two successful stores look the same, similarly your company’s fan page should highlight how you are different from others in the same industry. Building a fan page and drawing traffic from it is in reality just as difficult as developing a website and optimizing it. When designing your company’s Facebook fan page you can use different designs combined with graphics, audio and video, just make sure that they are in line with your business model.
After designing comes the fan following part and this is where things get tough. If your brand is an established name in the industry the job becomes easier but for startup companies or small businesses this can be tricky and time consuming. The best way to pull in traffic is to promote your business using Facebook’s data and focus on targeted consumer base. You may have to spend a few dollars for this but it is worth it as you will get better and quick response this way.
Remember each fan indicates how prosperous your business is so taking care of your fans is a must. Engage your fans with weekly contests (e.g. Fan of the week), appreciate their efforts, communicate with them on a regular basis- they will spread the word for you i.e. advertise you for free. This is where social media stands above conventional marketing and advertising platforms. It is real people who are promoting you; their words carry a value and trust with it. If your fans are pleased with you they will recommend your service over other social networks, their friends, relatives- increase your brand’s awareness.
Facebook fan pages have a huge latent potential in it, especially in times like ours when social media is a rage. Don’t take it lightly, spend time on it, be creative, and treat your fans like your friends and they will return the favor.
